Living Classrooms’ Family Education Sail

August 11 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

$30 - $35

Bring the whole family (children age 9 and over) for wonderful day on the water exploring the Port of Baltimore and Chesapeake Bay with Living Classrooms’ Shipboard Education crew onboard our historic education vessel, Skipjack Sigsbee! You and your family will learn to think like ship captains and marine biologists as we sail around the inner harbor, working together to raise and lower sails, perform scientific tests, and explore the commerce, history, natural resources, and ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay.

Join the Living Classrooms crew in performing water quality tests, studying plankton under a microscope, learning to navigate the boat, and even learning to dissect an oyster. Together you will trawl for marine life and identify and study the wildlife caught. Bring your engineer skills to participate in their famed Buoyancy Challenge where you will build your own boat and test its ability to stay afloat!

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to bring your children on an historic sail boat! What better way is there to spend a sunny summer afternoon?!
