FabLab at RPCS is a fun event for families with children aged preschool through grade 5 to celebrate exploration, focus and collaboration! Come explore our newly renovated and expanded Innovation Space and get busy playing!
Activities in the Preschool Classrooms for Preschoolers
*Investigations of Light and Color! Exploring light and color with color mixing and using magna-tiles on the light table.
*Investigations of Natural Materials! Exploring how humans use nature in many ways to make objects that are appealing to our senses.
*Investigations of Gravity! Using ramps, blocks, balls and scales to explore why some objects fall faster than others or how the weight of a ball affects how fast it rolls down a ramp.
Activities in the Innovation Space for Kindergarteners through Grade 5
*LittleBits! Explore magnetic circuitry with these fun electronic building blocks.
*Ozobots! Explore the imaginative side of robotics, from color coding to advanced programming.
*Makey Makey! Experiment with circuitry and coding by using conductive materials that can be found all around you.
*Lego Racers! Create your own and put it to the test.
Preschool activities will be run by members of the Roland Park Country School Preschool faculty. Activities in the Innovation Space will be run by Joe LePain, Director of Information and Innovation.
