Join us for a day of cooking, eating, crafts, and storytelling for the whole family. Take special tours including Smoked, Pickled, and Poached: A Fish Lover’s Guide to Chosen Food and Ritual Waters of the Lloyd Street Synagogue.
We’ll be featuring the National Aquarium Conservation Department from 10-12.
Chief Gefiltemonger, Liz Alpern of Gefilteria, will speak at 1pm about her business and we will sample Gefilteria’s signature Gefilte Crostini!
Don’t miss the gefilte fish “throwdown” at 2pm as three chefs vie for the honor of being crowned champion of this classic Jewish delicacy. WYPR’s Aaron Henkin – producer and host of the Signal, will MC a cooking competition between Liz Alpern of the Brooklyn-based Gefilteria food start-up, Chef Dave Whaley, first cook at the Four Seasons Baltimore restaurant, Wit and Wisdom, and local Pikesville mom, Susan Silbiger.
