Baltimore Book Festival

The Baltimore Book Festival features hundreds of author appearances and book signings, 100+ exhibitors and booksellers, non-stop readings on multiple stages, cooking demos by celebrity chefs, poetry readings and workshops, panel discussions, walking tours, storytellers and hands-on projects for kids, street theater, live music, and a delicious variety of food, beer and wine. St. Demetrios Greek Festival 2017

Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Baltimore, MD presents their 44th Annual Greek Festival from September 21st through September 24, 2017. Come join us in a celebration of culture, music and delicious food! The festival has something to offer everyone young and old. The Amazing Acro-Cats

The Amazing Acro-cats Featuring Tuna and the Rock Cats are a troupe of REAL performing house cats. The Acro-cats experience all started with Chief Executive Human (CEH for short) and animal trainer Samantha Martin. She has not only rescued her own pets, but also has found happy homes for over 200 homeless cats and kittens. Fall into Fitness 5k at Jones Falls Trail

Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP) wants you — and your kids — to get moving! They’ve launched a $5 5K series (yes, $5) that will take you and your adventurous family members around some of Charm City’s favorite parks. The next run/walk is September 23rd on the Jones Falls Trail, beginning at Cylburn. Check out our tips for running with kids before you go! MORE

Charm City Fly-In: Remote Control Airplane Festival
Saturday, September 23 – Sunday, September 24 | 10 AM – 5 PM | Southwest Area Park

Dozens of aviators from the Southwest Area Park (SWAP) Modelers will teach you how to taxi, take off and soar the skies as you guide model planes – some up to 10 feet long – hundreds of feet in the air. When you’re not piloting a plane, witness the aerial maneuvers of the skilled pilots as they dip, flip and bank their planes high overhead in a “Fun Fly Competition.” The Fly-In will include delicious grilled foods, cold beverages and more! Dino Day

Roar with the dinosaurs when they take over MSC on Saturday, September 23 for Dino Day! Channel your inner paleontologist as you uncover fossils and learn about the dinosaurs who roamed the earth millions of years ago. Family Farm Day

Family Farm Day is a one-day festival celebrating all things agriculture. Drawing over 5,000 visitors from throughout central Maryland, the festival has something to offer attendees of all ages including great food, music, exhibitions, tractor rides, art and craft vendors and educational programs. At Family Farm Day visitors can listen to the sounds of live music, browse the offerings of a sugar maple lined alee featuring locally grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey, meats, and cheeses. Bugs in Your Garden

Many children do not like bugs. Many are inappropriately afraid of bees. Why is this and what can we do about it? This one hour PowerPoint presentation with multiple short videos included gives children the two things they need to become friends with the insects in their garden: a sense of control over and a sense of wonder for the amazing community of garden insects. After the talk, Master Naturalist Beverly Davis will lead the group on a short walk. MORE

Make Your Own Bouncing Ball
