Musical Petting Zoo
Saturday, September 16 | 9:30 AM – 1 PM | The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

Not to be confused with a petting zoo full of animals, a musical petting zoo is an experience where you touch, feel and play with musical instruments! The Zoo is excited to welcome the Baltimore Gamer Symphony Orchestra and their herd of musical instruments waiting to be heard. This event is free with Zoo admission or Zoo membership. MORE

Music in the Gardens: Faculty Concert
Saturday, September 16 | 10 AM – 11 AM | Sherwood Gardens

Join Baltimore School of Music from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 16 for a classical music concert featuring faculty from Baltimore School of Music in beautiful Sherwood Gardens. Bring a blanket, enjoy free coffee provided by Charm City Coffee Roasters, and kick off your weekend off with some music! Exhibit Opening: Dora and Diego—Let’s Explore!

Dog lovers and dog owners! Baltimore Humane Society’s Dogfest Walk & Festival is Saturday, September 16th. It’s a dog day extravaganza for pets, kids, pet owners, and pet lovers that benefits animals in need of care and refuge at the 365 acre no-kill shelter. Barnyard Bash

Green Meadows Petting Farm is having their 6th Annual Barnyard Bash on September 16th & 17th! The event runs both days from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last admission at 4:00 PM). 
This is a great, family event! They will have food, sweet treats, entertaining shows and tons of vendors selling a little bit of everything. There will be all kinds of farm equipment on display! The local fire departments bring their firetrucks for a visit on Saturday. Big, big fun! $14/pp and under 2 are FREE! MORE

Third Annual Family Fun-n-Fit Day

Johns Hopkins Bayview has partnered with the Friends of Joseph Lee Park and the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks to host “Family Fun-n-Fit Day,” a free event dedicated to the health and wellness of the communities surrounding the Medical Center, on Saturday, September 16, 2017 (rain date: September 17), from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Joseph Lee Park (located at 5900 E. Pratt Street in Baltimore, Maryland). The festivities will include a number of activities to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles. MORE

Why the Baltimore Seafood Festival? Baltimoreans are so proud of their crab cakes, crab soup, shrimp salad, local oysters, and of course, Maryland blue crabs. 2nd Annual Parktoberfest

ParktoberFest is the 2nd Annual Street Festival located at the corner of Centre Street and Park Avenue. Miss Perception’s Mysteries Revealed Day
Sunday, September 17 | 12 PM – 5 PM | Port Discovery Children’s Museum

In early 2018, Port Discovery will show visitors what the future of learning and play at the Museum will look like with the opening of an exhibit and program preview area. In order to make way for this space, which will engage visitors through hands-on play and exploration, the endearing Miss Perception’s exhibit will close. Join Port Discovery as they reveal the mysteries of Miss Perceptions and the Baffled family and declare “Case Closed” as part of a Mysteries Revealed Day at Port Discovery when the exhibit closes to the public for good on September 17th. Monarch Magic

The monarch migration is underway. Learn about their fascinating journey and participate in the citizen science effort to understand their population. The Story of the Butterfly
Sunday, September 17 | 2 PM – 4 PM | Cylburn Arboretum

Join Cylburn Arboretum on Sunday, September 17 from 2-4pm for a children’s educational talk and craft. Master Gardener, Betty Walke will share the story of the butterfly life cycle and the migration of the monarchs. Children will learn to look for symmetry in nature will and apply it to art.
