We all know that being a girl is (cool) — but for the first time ever, we’re celebrating it in a POWerful way! WOW Baltimore kicks off next weekend at Notre Dame of Maryland University. If you’re a mom, this is a don’t miss.
WOW Women of the World is a high-profile, global movement of festivals that celebrates women as a force for positive change and takes a frank look at remaining barriers to gender equality. (cool) progeny is excited to be part of the celebration and exploration.
We’re inviting elementary school aged girls to join us for three hours of exploring the world of girl heroes during WOW. Discover just how much of an impact every girl can make. We’ll meet some real life girl heroes, make a difference through a service learning project for a local hospital, stretch our creativity and our muscles, and wrap up the session by crafting our very own #ManySidesofMe vision statements.
Attendees will have a chance to meet local #girlhero Grace Callwood during the workshop. Grace (12) is the founder of The We Cancerve Movement. She’ll be sharing her story, answering questions, and joining our service project. Participants will also hear from Ruzica Puskas-Ragontse, Baltimore Fashion Photography, who will briefly share her story and then photograph each girl. (Yes! You’ll get a copy of the photo!) After the workshops, (cool) progeny will be compiling a video of all participant’s vision statements and sharing.
We’re offering this session at 9:00 AM and at 1 PM. Register here (and do it quickly because space is limited!)
While your daughter attends the workshop, you should check out the schedule and register for a session of your own!
