Have you been enjoying our summer craft series? Then you definitely want to join us for next Thursday’s (cool) downtown family date night at The Walters Art Museum! Katie Gill-Harvey, the creative mama behind the craft series, will be our artist-in-resident that evening. She’ll be working with families to create one large plastic bag community weaving project! (We have some fun plans for the community project after it’s all done… but you’ll have to stay tuned for the big reveal!)

The Baltimore mom has spent most of her adult life making messes with kids in the name of art, both as an art teacher and a mom. Katie is a collector of all kinds of random things that might be useful someday and a lover of adventuring around Charm City with her three kids. Katie also runs A Childhood Store, an online shop featuring her handmade soy and beeswax crayons.

We’re thrilled to “officially” welcome Katie to the (cool) team — and can’t wait to share more of her crafty fun for kiddos this fall in her new monthly feature! But in the meantime, come create with us and meet her next week!
