Just a friendly reminder that this week is tax-free shopping week in Maryland — the perfect time to stock up on kid essentials!
What exactly does tax-free shopping week mean? Qualifying apparel and footwear $100 or less (per item!) are exempt from the state sales tax. Accessory items are not included (darn!). This year’s Maryland Tax-Free Week for 2016 is Sunday, August 14 – Saturday, August 20.
One local store is sweetening the tax-free deal. At Wee Chic Boutique in Lutherville, you’ll not only save on tax, they’ll be donating 6% of all sales to Clipper Mill & Ellicott City Flood relief efforts. So you can score the (cool) threads in the photo above AND give back.
Tax-free shopping week really comes at a perfect time for parents — new fall merchandise is just hitting your favorite local boutiques and summer merchandise is on sale. (It’s hard to think about fur on a day like today, but these new arrivals at Tiny Toes in Bel Air are just too cute!). Stock up for next summer and get some (cool) fall threads. Fun factoid: cloth diapers are included as part of tax-free shopping. All the more reason to make a trip to Greenberries.
Don’t forget to stop by your favorite local store and treat yourself, too! The week is for all qualifying apparel and footwear (pint-sized and adult!). Need a little style inspiration? Check out Alice Jane, JG Sassy, and Sassanova on Facebook.
