Is summer really winding down? Not judging by the variety of (cool) outdoor and awesome indoor fun to be had at Baltimore family events this weekend.

Squeeze every moment you can out of those summer vibes before you have to start really prepping for back-to-school. Pick some peaches, get your groove on at a free concert, bring the dog along to a block party in their honor. Grab your favorite scoop for brunch at the Farmers market, go really old school by checking out a silent movie, and explore backyard science.

Another summer favorite is on its way out as well. Held here in Charm City since 1999, Otakon – the largest Anime convention in the country- will be making it’s last Baltimore appearance before moving to Washington, DC next year. Friday-Sunday an estimated 30,000 fans of the genre will be at the convention center and out and about. If you’ve always wanted to see what it’s all about, or maybe just snap a pic with some of the awesome cosplay artists, now’s the time to do it.
