Thursday: Road Trip to Watkins Park. The hourish drive to PG County to check out the Wizard of Oz-themed playground is absolutely worth it! Take a picnic (only food option is vending machines) and money to ride the mini trains and old fashioned carousel ($2/pp for each attraction). Don’t miss the nature center and small farm. Admission to the park and playground is free. This Thursday, the Nature Center on site has a puppet show for kids ages 2-10. $4/pp for non-PG county residents and you should register for the puppet show in advance! MORE
Friday: Catch ’em All at the Baltimore County Public Library. Kids Pokémon crazed? All 19 branches of BCPL are either a Poké Stop or a Poké Gym. On Friday, July 22, you can join in an epic Poké Crawl across Baltimore County, one library branch at a time. Each branch will set off Poké Lures at designated times to help you catch the elusive critters. While you’re at the branch, find a librarian wearing a Pokémon button and tell them what team you’re on and what Pokémon you caught while at the library. You can check in anytime throughout the day — not just during the lures — and you may even find some unexpected Poké Fun. At the end of the day, the team with the most check-ins will take control of that branch, just like a Poké Gym in the game! There will be special BCPL Pokémon stickers available while supplies last…catch ’em while you can! Feel free to wear your team colors! Check their Facebook Page on Thursday, July 21 for a full schedule and lure times! MORE
