Monday: Go On A Space Adventure. The Chesapeake Children’s Museum is hosting a SPACE ACADEMY day! Trainees of all ages can enroll to launch miniature rockets, build a model space station, and create alien puppets. There will be an Alien Costume Competition at 11:30 am and again at 2:30 pm. All other activities 10 am to 5 pm. Free with museum admission. MORE

Tuesday: Check Out Children of the World. Children of the World Co-Op is hosting an open house all week long from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM. Spend a morning with your child(ren) in their cooperative playgroup program. Open play, arts/crafts, circle time singing, snack time and outdoor play await!! Meet other parents/caregivers and learn what they love about this gently structured program for their children and themselves. MORE

Wednesday: Play in the Lab. Every Wednesday in July, aMuse Toys is hosting $5 open play sessions at their Quarry Lake location. Kiddos will enjoy playing with their collection of award winning toys at different play stations (Tegu, Brio, Smart Max & more). Thursday: Concert Road Trip. Head to Strathmore Music Center in Bethesda for their Backyard Theatre for Kids this Thursday morning to catch (cool) kindie favorite Recess Monkey! ( Kids music shouldn’t just be fun for the kids!)While your little ones dance and sing along, you’ll be laughing out loud at the clever lyrics and bopping along to these irresistible pop gems. Friday: Meet Chuggington. Chuggington: A Traintastic Adventure!, brings the popular tv show to life at the B&O Railroad Museum as families are immersed into the world of Chuggington. Young Trainees have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, complete several challenges, and earn rewards for their participation. Each challenge is scenario-based and represents Chuggington’s main themes and characters – Koko, Brewster, and Wilson.  The challenges allow Trainees to practice important life skills such as teamwork, safety, and leadership as they work hard to become the best Trainee they can be. The fun kicks off on Thursday at the B&O and runs all weekend long. The last day to purchase tickets in advance online is July 11th. MORE
