The Bawlmer term of endearment, Hon, short for Honey, embodies the warmth and affection bestowed upon our neighbors and visitors alike by historic working-women of Baltimore. HONFest is an annual celebration and local tradition in honor of these women. Maryland Youth Ballet presents Alice in Wonderland

Mid Atlantic Youth Ballet is a non-profit dance school and youth ballet company located in Towson. Mid Atlantic, founded in 2007, provides access to professional quality full-length ballet productions, community outreach, and instruction of dance technique. The 2016 spring performance is Alice in Wonderland, June 10th (10am & 7pm) and June 11th (1pm & 7pm). Performances are held at Stephens Hall Theatre, Towson University.

Open Cockpit Day @ the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum

Home to the world’s oldest airport, three major aircraft manufacturers and many smaller ones, the first commuter airline, and countless other aviation innovations, Maryland has a rich aviation and space heritage. The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum has collected over a dozen aircraft, thousands of reels of motion picture films, plans, documents, research models, aircraft tools, and components; and a gigantic indexed collection of more than 200,000 aviation and company photographs.

The Museum’s airplanes will be open for visitors, providing the thrill of sitting in a trainer or fighter pilot’s seat or 1952 passenger airliner. MORE

Maryland Science Center 40th Birthday Celebration

It’s been 40 years since the Maryland Science Center opened its doors at the Inner Harbor. Join in the fun of their birthday celebration where they’ll roll back admission pricing to what it was 40 years ago‒$2.50 for adults and $1.00 for children, ages 3-12. Children under 3 are free. Local band Rocknocerus will kick off the day with a concert at Noon and both Poe and the Oriole Bird will be here for the show. Plus, have a slice of free birthday cake, play life-size games that were popular in the 1970s (think Operation and KerPlunk), and engage in related experiments and activities that celebrate our 40 years. St Nicholas Greek Folk Festival

When your Greek festival is featured in People Magazine in Greece, you know you’ve been doing something right. And the St Nicholas Greek Folk Festival seems to have been doing something right for the past 30 years. Each year, the St Nicholas Greek Orthodox church of Baltimore organizes and hosts the festival in a bid to celebrate the Greek American culture. Baltimore Floatilla for a Healthy Harbor

The Waterfront Partnership’s Healthy Harbor Initiative will launch it’s its first annual paddling floatilla event—The Baltimore Floatilla for a Healthy Harbor, a five-mile paddle to support clean water on Saturday June 11, 2016. Experienced paddlers will launch their canoes, kayaks and standup paddle boards from the Canton Waterfront Park beginning at 8:00 a.m., paddle 2.5 miles and rally at the Inner Harbor where they will raise their paddles and voices for clean and healthy water. I Am Franklin: Comic Book Art Workshop @ The Reginald F. Lewis Museum

Create comic book art about your community and self-identity with artist Jerrell Gibbs utilizing the African American comic strip character Franklin Armstrong from the comic strip Peanuts, created by Charles M. Heavy Seas Blunderbus Music Festival

On the heels of its 20th anniversary and a wildly successful inaugural endeavor last spring, Heavy Seas Beer is proud to announce Baltimore Harbor’s largest summer music festival this year. This year’s event takes place at Rash Field on Saturday June 11, 2016 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm. Headlining the music festival is Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Also taking the stage will be American rock and electronic duo BoomBox, American alternative rock band Big Something, Baltimore singer-songwriter Cris Jacobs, and Annapolis rock and soul band Sweet Leda.
