Maryland Day Celebration
Maryland Day marks the formal founding of the colony of Maryland, when settlers from England celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving on St. Clement’s Island in what is now St. Mary’s County, Maryland. For the NINTH year in a row, Four Rivers Heritage Area is partnering with regional heritage organizations and businesses to showcase the area’s historical, cultural and natural heritage. In the past, this event was always held the day before Easter. This year, it will be on March 19, the weekend before Easter.
