The Sound of Music at The Hippodrome
A brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O’Brien, is coming to the Hippodrome Theatre! The spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the Von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony®, Grammy® and Academy Award®-winning Best Score, including “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Edelweiss” and the title song. 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the film version. Shows are Friday at 8:00pm, Saturday and 2:00pm and 8:00pm and Sunday at 1:00pm and 6:30pm. Chesapeake Shakespeare Company Presents A Christmas Carol
A holiday classic with a Baltimore twist! Chesapeake Shakespeare Company presents a delightful, original adaptation of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. True to the traditional tale, businessman Ebenezer Scrooge will receive visits from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, to help change his miserly ways. For fun, they’ve set the story in Victorian Maryland, with Scrooge and Marley’s office located in downtown Baltimore. MORE

Breakfast with Santa: Slainte Irish Pub and Restaurant
If you’re down in Fells, stop in with the kids and visit with Santa on Saturday. There will be FREE Breakfast for kids 7 and under, a complimentary photo with the big man, and plenty of Christmas crafts for the children. The 3rd floor will be open to accommodate everyone. Join 50+ amazing independent crafters for the 9th annual HOLIDAY HEAP CRAFT FAIR presented by the Charm City Craft Mafia! Shop handmade and local for all your holiday needs on Saturday, December 12th from 10am-5pm. The fair is located at St. John’s Church, 2640 Saint Paul St, Baltimore, Maryland 21218. Calling all architects! Join The Walters this month to build miniature cities, create giant skyscrapers, and design beautiful spaces inside and out! Santa Saturdays at the Maryland Zoo
The Maryland Zoo will be welcoming that jolly ole elf Santa Claus this month for Santa Saturdays! On December 5, 12 and 19 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in the Penguin Education Center, Santa and a few of his costumed holiday character friends – Holly Elf and Frosty the Snowman – will be on hand to meet Zoo visitors and listen to their holiday wishes!  There will also be creative seasonal crafts for the kids. Marvel Universe LIVE! at Royal Farms Arena
Get ready to see all your children’s favorite Super Heros LIVE in action! The story is framed around the battle over the Cosmic Cube, the source of ultimate power and one of the most feared and coveted treasures in the Marvel Universe. The Cosmic Cube has been shattered into pieces by the Mighty Thor in order to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands. To defeat Loki, Marvel’s greatest Super Heroes must band together, including The Avengers – Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk along with Spider Man and Wolverine, and rem across the globe to retrieve the Cosmic Cube fractals and unite them. Show is Dec 12-13 at the Royal Farms Arena. Annual Christmas Open House at Ladew Gardens
Ladew is a magical place every month of the year, but it’s especially magical at Christmas!  The circa 1747 Manor House is decorated in the theme of “The Colors of Christmas” as interpreted by Floral Designers and Garden Clubs. Holiday arrangements, greens and gifts are for sale. 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. The Ladew Cafe will be open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm offering a delicious holiday menu, including lunch, desserts, and refreshments. MORE

Christmas Village in Baltimore
Christmas Village in Baltimore is a combination of an outdoor and indoor Holiday Market at West Shore Park in the Inner Harbor. The event is modeled after the traditional Christmas Markets in Germany like the famous Christkindl Market in Nuremberg. From Thanksgiving through December 27, 2015 vendors in more than 60 booths sell traditional European food, sweets and drinks. They also offer a great shopping experience with international holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts. Open daily. $3-$5. MORE

Baltimore Musicales’ “Children’s Holiday Spectacular!”
Celebrate the season with classic holiday songs for kids of all ages on Saturday! Join us for a fun and interactive program of holiday favorites with a musical gift for each child to take home and sweet treats with the artists following the performance. Featuring sopranos Annie Gill and Thea Tullman Moore, tenor George Wilkerson, bass-baritone Daryl Yoder, and pianist Patricia McKewen Amato. No tickets required. The singers of Baltimore Musicales present a fun and interactive program of holiday favorites for kids of all ages! Come after 12:00 p.m. for “Lunch with Santa”–crafts, photos with Santa, and delicious goodies–and stay for the music at 2:00 p.m. MORE

4th Annual Rock the Dock
The Power Plant presents the 4th Annual “Rock the Dock” Family Holiday Bash will feature live music by the Milkshake band, holiday-themed arts & crafts, ornament making, cookie decorating, face painting, train rides along the promenade, a moon bounce, sweet and savory samples provided by Power Plant restaurants, and more! New this year – a live theatrical show direct from New York City’s Broadway – meet Elsa, Ana and Hans in their musical adaptation of Frozen! Saturday from 3 PM – 6 PM. Baltimore Improv Group’s Kids and Family Saturday
Calling all fun families! Come on out and enjoy an evening of family friendly improv theater with the Baltimore Improv Group! It’s a Wonderful Life at The Senator
Come view a Christmas classic on the big screen Sunday morning, December 13th at 10:00am. The Senator will be showing It’s a Wonderful Life for their annual food drive to benefit the GEDCO CARES Food Pantry! Starring: James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell, Henry Travers & Beulah Bondi An angel helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman by showing what life would have been like if he never existed. Character Skate at Pandora Ice Rink
Skate with professional skaters from Next Ice Age and various costumed characters. Skaters can also enjoy a live performance by the Next Ice Age. Tickets required. Sunday from 12 PM – 2 PM. MORE

Union Square Christmas Cookie Tour
After thirty years and almost 250,000 tasty cookies, the Union Square Christmas Cookie Tour is set to celebrate, big time! The event will kick off on Friday, December 11th at 7pm with the Union Square Park Christmas Tree Lighting and welcome. The Cookie Tour will be held on December 13th from 12noon until 4:30pm and starts at 1401 Hollins Street. Check in, receive a recipe book and a neighborhood map, and tour the our historic houses while enjoying cookies and conversation! Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. MORE

In the Moon of Wintertime Holiday Concert
The Peabody Renaissance Ensemble, directed by Mark Cudek, will be joined by the Baltimore Baroque Band, directed by John Moran and Risa Browder, in a varied program of Renaissance, Baroque, and Sephardic music that reflects Christian and Jewish traditions, and will drive the cold winter away. Hot cider will be served at intermission. CDs will be available for sale in the Museum Store. Sunday at 3 PM at The Walters Art Museum. MORE
