This piece by Elizabeth Gilbert (who penned one of my absolute fav memes ever) is by no means new. But I think it’s a great reminder for all of us who may be struggling with doing it all.

Sesame Street launched “Sesame Street and Autism: See Amazing in All Children,” an online initiative that will provide resources for viewers on the spectrum, as well as educate the general public about autism. A big part of this is the introduction of Julia, an autistic character who Elmo meets in an online storybook. Couldn’t love this more — Sesame Street has always been so (cool).

Meeting students’ needs is a top priority for area schools. Baltimore STYLE recently looked into how creative schools are getting with accommodations and programs. 

Watkins Park in PG County had a big grand opening two weeks ago — their new Wizard of Oz-themed playground. Adding this one to our list of places to try out!

Thinking about delaying kindergarten for your child? A new study from Stanford suggests that delaying kindergarten for one year reduced inattention and hyperactivity by 73 percent for an average child at age 11 and it virtually eliminated the probability that an average child at that age would have an ‘abnormal,’ or higher-than-normal rating for the inattentive-hyperactive behavioral measure. It also advocates more play-based kindergarten.
