Art Outside Maryland
Explore art as story making at this year’s Art Outside! We’re thrilled to be the host for the 3rd year in a row of the Kids Art Exploration Area and we’ve put together a fun FREE day of creativity for families in Druid Hill Park! Make art with The Walters Art Museum, National Aquarium and local illustrator Joyce Hesselberth. Dance the afternoon away with DC Kindie Band Here Comes Trouble, Ms. Cacie, and Baltimore’s own Beans-n-Frank. Listen to a reading from Baltimore author Erin Hagar. Express yourself through yoga storytelling and creative dramatics with Everyman Theatre. Join the (cool) progeny team for a special #OneBaltimore community art project. Sunday, 11 AM – 5 PM. Cane Pole Fishing
Fish for bluegill and largemouth bass with cane poles at Oregon Ridge Nature Center. They provide the pole and the worms. Adults and children 16+ must have MD fishing licenses in order to participate. Ages 5+, $6/ $4 members. Saturday and Sunday, 9 AM – 11 AM. MORE INFO

CAF AirPower History Tour featuring the B-29 Superfortress FIFI
Take a tour on a historic WWII aircraft at the Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum. Tours available staring a 12:00 p.m. Also see planes take flight! B-29 flies at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. B-24 flies at 4:00 p.m. Supporting aircraft available all day Saturday and Sunday. MORE INFO

Baltimore Faerie Faire
Come play with the Faeries, elves, mermaids and goblins! Faire hours are from 10am-6pm. Tickets are only $15, with kids $5 and a family price cap! The Baltimore Faerie Faire celebrates the wonders of the natural world, and all the beings that inhabit it, real and imaginary. We seek to to heal, inspire, nurture, entertain and serve our Baltimore community by creating Wonder in an urban Faerie Festival. We strive to find balance between the concrete and the dirt, the practical and the fantastic. Promoting creativity in costume, crafts, music, dance, art and attitude, Baltimore Faerie Faire seeks to create a welcoming space for young and old, dreamers and doers, artists and patrons of the arts. Herring Run Park Archeology Weekend
Come out to Herring Run Park to celebrate the history of northeast Baltimore history and get involved with the Herring Run Park Public Archeology Project. On Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, Baltimore Heritage, the Northeast Baltimore History Roundtable, and our partners are welcoming visitors from the neighborhood and archeology-enthusiasts from across the region to stop by and learn more about the dig in progress. Stream Searchin’ at Irvine Nature Center

Silly Sock Puppet Workshop with Nina Tou

Bolton Hill Family Bike Party
Join the Baltimore Family Bike Party on the afternoon of May 16 for a fun group ride around Bolton Hill and nearby neighborhoods. We’ll start the ride at the Mount Royal Elementary/Middle School Playground – just across the street from On the Hill Cafe. Symphonic Pops – Columbia Orchestra
Buy your tickets early for our most popular concert of the season! The program includes hits by Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald with vocalist Delores King Williams and the Columbia Jazz Band. Drop-in Art Activities: Sculpture
It’s time to put on your 3-D thinking cap and build, carve, and assemble. Visit The Walters each weekend in May as we use foil, clay, paper, and everyday objects to make sculptures big and small. Join museum educators as they help families create artful projects related to the collection, special exhibitions, and family programs.
