Happy Birthday to the B&O! Special weekend of Train Rides!
Celebrate both the B&O’s 188th birthday as well as the 131st birthday of the historic 1884 Baldwin Roundhouse! The B&O will offer a special weekend of train rides (weather permitting) and and highlight educational programs on both the birth of the oldest railroad in America and the 1884 Roundhouse. Rocknoceros at The Park School
One of the Maryland metro area’s favorite kindie bands will be rocking The Park School this Saturday. For FREE. Join Rocknoceros (pronounced like rhinoceros) for a musical morning that won’t make you feel like you overdosed on saccharin. That’s right. Kid-friendly lyrics with adult-friendly music. Gadgets & Gears Day at The Maryland Science Center
The Maryland Science Center will break out the bots in celebration of National Engineers Week on Saturday for Gadgets & Gears Day. Young engineers, builders and inventors will, well, engineer, build and invent all day with activities, experiments and demonstrations involving robots, drones, radio-controlled cars, 3D printing and nanotechnology. 8th Annual Sword Swallower’s Day
Join Ripley’s Believe It or Not! to celebrate the ancient art of Sword Swallowing at the 8th Annual Sword Swallower’s Day! Spaghetti Disco is a favorite wacky neighborhood tradition and benefits the Village Learning Place. This amazing party brings together delicious food, kids’ crafts and games, and great neighbors on a sizzling dance floor. Not too many parties combine meatballs with literacy, the Bee-Gees with the ABCs, like this one does! From 5:30 to 8 pm on Saturday, February 28, feast on a delicious spaghetti dinner, chat with your neighbors, engage your kids in fun activities, and enjoy delicious desserts. “The Girl’s Photography Project” Reception + Exhibit at The Jewish Museum of Maryland
In 2014, 15 African American and Orthodox Jewish girls ages 10-14 participated in a series of workshops that enabled them to learn about each other’s perspectives living in their northwest Baltimore City community. They learned to use a camera, take quality photos and most importantly, got to know one another while gaining an understanding of each other’s life experiences. Kids Comedy Sunday – Family Friendly Comedy Magic Show
Award winning comedy magician, Tim Hall will be hosting Kid’s Comedy Sunday on March 1st at Magooby’s Joke House in Timonium, Md. Head to the Oregon Ridge Nature Center Sugar Shack any time between 10AM and 4PM on Saturday and Sunday to learn the magic behind the fascinating process of making maple syrup!
