One of the things I love most about (cool) progeny is the community that’s been created. Personally, I’ve gotten to know so many of you through our social channels and events. And I know many of you have gotten to know one another, too.

It’s a community with a lot of heart.

One family I’ve come to know is The Scherck Family. I met them — Devin, Katherine, and Anne Marie — at one of our first playdate events. Our families expanded. They welcomed James. We welcomed the Little Lion Man (Anne Marie even sent the Bug a note with advice on how to be a great big sister!).

Devin passed away unexpectedly from a congenital heart defect that went undetected (he was diagnosed at birth with pulmonary stenosis and was two days old when he had open-heart surgery. In 1977, he was the youngest person to have that done). Anne Marie also has pulmonary stenosis, but thankfully, it is very mild.

Anne Marie is showing her big heart by raising money for The American Heart Association through her school’s jump rope for heart program. She made this video and I just had to share.

What do you say, CP Community? Think we can help her out?

Visit her webpage to make a donation or give a little encouragement.

Go Anne Marie!! The whole CP Team thinks you rock.
