Arts Agstravaganza
Baltimore County Arts Guild and the Maryland Agricultural Resource Center bring an exciting new event to the area this fall: An Arts and Agricultural Festival! Highlighting the event is a demonstration and performance by world-renowned street painter, Michael William Kirby, famous for his inventive, 3-D chalk art.  The festival also features a major juried art show of work by many of the finest artists and craftsmen in the region. Other features of Arts-AGstravaganza: Children’s Art Area sponsored by The Art Gallery of Maryland; Food, music, and beer provided by THE GATHERING, a food truck experience; Live arts and crafts demonstrations; A photo booth to snap your photo “in” the 3-D chalk design by Mr. Kirby; and an iPad raffle to raise funds for the arts. 61st Annual Festival on the Hill
Bolton Hill Nursery sponsors the 61st Annual Festival on the Hill.  They’re starting off the day with a concert by Milkshake Trio starting 11 a.m.  They’ll have an extensive children’s area with a bounce house, face painting, hula hoops, bubbles, popcorn, cotton candy and many more activities.  Later in the day they’ll have Mombo Combo performing their tunes.  There will be beer, wine, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, gourmet foods and desserts, oysters and more! This years festival will take place on the 1300 block of Bolton Street and wrap around in front of Bolton Hill Nursery’s brand new school at 204 West Lanvale Street. Bolton Hill is located in the central district near Maryland Institute College of Art, University of Baltimore and Mount Vernon.  Just a quick trip up a couple of exits off 83 or right down MLK Blvd. MORE INFO

13th Annual Pigtown Festival
Pigtown Main Street presents the 13th Annual Pigtown Festival “Street Carnival”, which will take place Saturday, October 11, 2014 from noon to 7pm. This family-friendly event features live music by regional bands including Super Bueno, Rufus Roundtree and Da B’more Brass Factory, festive food, Heavy Seas brews, pie eating contests, pumpkin decorating, and more! New this year – Washington Boulevard will be transformed into a street festival with Aerial acts, strolling entertainment, and carnival games! Saturday, 12 PM – 7 PM. MORE INFO

Thomas Johnson Elementary/Middle School Annual Fall Festival
Thomas Johnson Elementary/Middle School invites all neighbors to the Annual Fall Festival.  The Festival will be held at 100 E. Heath Street, Saturday, October 11th 12-4pm.  Event will be held Rain or Shine! There is something for everyone. Seton Hill French Fair
Seton Hill’s free, fun, funky French-themed fair that celebrates Seton Hill as Baltimore’s historic French Quarter. The Seton Hill French Fair is fun for everyone! Dance, listen to music, see art on the fence, a Flea market, a puppet show, good French-style food and drink, our signature French maid race, games and activities such as Petanque, Hula hooping, sack races, face painting, kids build the Eiffel tower, and a Toddlers tour de France and Grand Prix. Pumpkinfest at Irvine Nature Center
PumpkinFest is a fun event for families and communities to celebrate the delights of autumn. Each October, hundreds of families gather at Irvine to enjoy a wholesome day of music, food and fun. Penguin Awareness Day
Did you know that the Zoo’s penguins are from South Africa and actually enjoy warm weather? From conservation efforts to daily husbandry practices, learn all about the Zoo’s amazing penguin colony. They have it on the best authority that penguin gazing is good for your health! Story Pirates at Gordon Center for the Arts
Recognized by Jon Stewart as “crazy entertaining,” – and called a mix between School House Rock and Monty Python – Story Pirates will captivate and inspire audiences of all ages. Join us for a surprising afternoon filled with lively songs and outrageous sketches – all adapted from stories written by elementary school students from across the country. Performed by professional actors, story themes run the gamut from kung fu ninja babies fighting crime, to flying cats, and tickle monsters who rule the world. Who knows, the experience might even motivate your child to write a story for a future show! Perfect for ages 3-11. Come early for engaging activities including improvisation workshops with the Baltimore Improv group, a fun and meaningful service project with Jewish Volunteer Connection, and craft activities provided by Krieger Schechter Day School. 10:30 AM on Sunday.
