Baltimore Comic Con
The Baltimore Comic-Con (comic convention) is a comic book-oriented fan convention held in the fall of every year since its inception in 2000. Founded by Marc Nathan, owner of Cards, Comics, and Collectibles of Reistertown, MD. Each year, the show features marquee-name comic book creators past and present, publishers, charitable organizations, and vendor booths offering genre-related items including comic book back-issues, limited edition collectible items such as Toon Tumblers and clothing, videos/DVDs, etc. Kids 10 and under get into the show free with a paid adult admission! Catholic Charities Dragon Boat Races 2014
The 2014 Races are the 9th time that Catholic Charities has taken over the Inner Harbor in September to host the day-long races of between as many as 40 sponsored teams — all to improve the lives of individuals and families. The Dragon Boat Races are the largest Dragon Boat Racing event in the region. On Race Day, which this year is September 6, more than 10,000 spectators come to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor to watch the exciting races, cheer on the family and friends paddling the boats, and join in the fun. The teams have their own tents in the Rash field Tent City where they gather, plan strategy, and enjoy the food, music, and other team-oriented contests that are all part of the festival. Check out the 47th Annual Maryland Seafood Festival — filled with a variety of delicious seafood, exciting and new demonstrations and competitions, toe tapping musical entertainment, kids activities, loads of shopping options, vendors, exhibits, contests and more!
