Who says you can’t get history at the National Aquarium? To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore in 1812 and “The Star-Spangled Banner”, The National Aquarium will host Star-Spangled Friday Nights beginning THIS FRIDAY Every Friday evening through September 12, all guests entering the National Aquarium after 5:00 p.m. will enjoy a special admission price of $18.12. The biggest ‘bang for your buck’ is on the adult tickets since regular adult admission $34.95, but you still shave a few dollars off the regularly-priced $21.95 child’s admission. Children under 3 are always free!

From their website: Why $18.12, you ask? It’s a subtle nod to the War of 1812 and the role it played in our nation’s history. What better way to honor Baltimore’s inspirational past than spending the evening in the heart of the Inner Harbor where it all happened?

Don’t worry! Their Fridays After Five program will resume on September 19, 2014.

Families who visit the Aquarium on these nights can participate in a special star-spangled themed scavenger hunt and enjoy animal encounters. Snacks and beverages, including beer and wine, will also be available for purchase on these evenings.

What a fabulous family date night idea!

The fine print: All activities and exhibits are free with price of admission. Guests may purchase these reduced-rate tickets at the ticket counter or online at aqua.org.Last entry through the ticket counter is 7:45 p.m. and last available entry time for online ticket purchases is 7:30 p.m. Ticket cost will be automatically reduced for online purchases when guests select an entry time of 5:00 p.m. or later. Guests can roam the exhibits until 9:30 pm. No promotional code is required.
