Have you tried Baltimore’s newest style experience? The Haute Blow Dry Bar is the perfect place for a mini- mom escape OR some one-on-one time with your pint-sized gal pal.

{And it will save your sanity this holiday season. No more battling it out with a flat iron before those professional photos or company soirée!)

The Blow Dry Bar concept is truly fabulous. Cross your favorite watering hole with your favorite salon. Viola! Blow Dry Bar. Rather than order a gin and tonic, you order a Vegas. That’s a blow-out with lots of volume.

Haute has two locations: one in Towson and one in Harbor East. You can easily make appointments online or just drop in if your style needs a little lift. A $35 wash-and-dry session typically takes about 45 minutes. Add a deep conditioning treatment or updo for an additional fee. No cuts. Save that for your regular salon.

The best part? There’s no pretense here. It’s just style made fun + easy. With a menu that includes styles such as “The NYC” (sleek and straight), “The Baltimore” (signature look with a hint of curl), the Dallas (lots of curl. Because everything is bigger in Texas), and soon-to-be- added “The Vegas,” the Haute ladies know how to keep style real. And fabulous.

My mini-me had a blast, too… Here’s a peek at our Haute afternoon! If you bring the kids, be sure to ask for the Bug’s “do.” Trés adorable.

Haute Tips and Tricks for Holiday At-Home Styling…

  • “Rough-dry” hair until it’s about 50% dry.
  • With a round brush, remember to start in the front of the hair
  • Keep your brush and sections around brush in vertical position– and be sure to dry hair away from the face.
  • While some product helps give body and holds the style longer (such as Davines’ “Volume Mouse” or “Volu Mist”), NEVER overload your hair with too much product,. It’ll cause the opposite effect.

How to Keep your Professional Blow-Out for days…

  • Protect your hair with a shower cap! (for an extra “boost,” roll your hair in velcro rollers or pin curls, before covering with shower cap. Let the the shower heat and steam work FOR you!)
  • Invest in a great dry shampoo such as Davines’ “Hair Refresher” — with odor neutralizing molecules and no white residue– to extend the life of your blow- out.
  • On day 3/4 add a barrel curling iron to your styling regimen.
