When you think about it, kids really play in miniature-mode most of the time. Think: tiny cars, dolls, legos, tiny doll houses and the list continues. Making a pretend city or street for your child can be literally as easy as drawing on poster paper. Immediately, you create a world that they can bring to life.
If you’d like to make a poster paper city you’ll just need a few things (and you probably have them lying around the house!).
And a few small toys, especially cars
The easiest way to draw a city is to begin by drawing a large cross in the center of your poster paper.
Next, draw dotted lines in the center of your cross for the center lines of your street.
Lastly, draw details in each of the sections of your street intersection or cross. We drew a pond, some squares to represent houses, a park and a large square as a parking
Now have fun with your city! Your little one can doodle on the poster paper too or older children can obviously draw this all on their own!
