new FREE fam-friendly concert series in baltimore!

Community Concerts at Second

Ever wanted to take your pint-sizer to hear the BSO, but worried that you’d blow that ticket money on a grand meltdown and have to listen to the orchestra from the lobby area while chasing after your oh-so-cooperative offspring?

Fear no more. Community Concerts at Second have expanded their free, 16-series concert to include two special events designed just for families. They are  proud to present a range of extraordinary artists in afternoon recitals and evening chamber music concerts right at Second Presbyterian Church, featuring members of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Community Concerts at Second

Their first family-friendly concert event is this Sunday at 3:30 PM. Join C Street Brass for an upbeat musical experience the whole family will love. With their distinct interpretations and unified sound, C Street Brass’ vast repertoire is driven from the standards of brass quintet literature, classical pops, contemporary music, as well as transcriptions from all genres.  With ties to the Peabody Institute, the group’s dynamic stage presence, coupled with wildly entertaining theatrics, is sure to establish a personal connection with the audience.

Plus they’ve got a special surprise just for the kids!

Go ahead. Get a little culture. If you can’t make Sunday, they have another family event planned with Morgan State University Choir on October 21st.

{Did we mention it’s free?}

Heather is editor-in-chief of (cool) progeny. When not scouting the best in everything kid and family, you'll probably find her running The Weisse Group or adventuring around town with her daughter (the Bug) and husband. Can be won over with a good glass of wine or something homemade. Addicted to Pinterest. Only pretends to know what she's doing with her SLR, even though she's got a fantastic lens on it. Thankful it does most of the work for her.

we are modern family

Who, us? We’re putting (cool) back in to the crazy, upside down world of modern parenting. All about raising fun, fashionable, active little thinkers with a strong cuppa coffee on the side.

Takes the Cake. You may know Mary Alice from her reality tv days or from her work at Charm City Cakes, but around this little slice of internet, we adore her for her wit. We love a mom with the two must-have senses for parenthood: common sense and a sense of humor.
