app of the week: zooborns

The latest app obsession around our house isn’t a complicated one. No matching, whiz bang effects or zinging birds at pigs. In fact it’s just photos.

But we are obsessed.

Let me introduce you to ZooBorns. The popular website that features the newest and cutest exotic baby animals from accredited zoos and aquariums around the world ALSO has a smart phone app that brings the photos right to your phone. The Bug loves flipping through them, squealing “ooohhhh” and “aaaahhhh” the whole time.

The cuteness is overwhelmingly addictive. Fair warning. You will immediately be sucked into a vortex of ocelots, puffins, giraffes, sifakas, bear cubs, whales and more.

Charm City is well represented, too! The Maryland Zoo and National Aquarium in Baltimore are featured.

The Bug was so inspired by the app that on our trip to the Maryland Zoo yesterday, she grabbed my phone and was taking her own “zoo photos” to look at.

Best part? The app, available for iPhone and Android, is 100% free.
