Second Annual Women’s HerStory Month: Saturday, March 10 from1:30-3:30 pm, The Friends of Benjamin Banneker and Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks will host the second annual Women’s HerStory Month program at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum. This year’s FREE program will focus on the many roles African American women played during the Civil War. Live re-enactments!
Saturday’s Child: Children’s Author Program with Jerdine Nolen: Author Jerdine Nolen reads excerpts from her latest children’s book, Eliza’s Freedom Road, An Underground Railroad Diary at The Reginald F. Lewis Museum. She will discusses how she writes her stories. After the presentation, children will create a story quilt block. A book signing will follow. Free with paid admission.
Pop-Up Science at Port Discovery: Discover the science behind play! Each Pop Up Science session features a simple science demonstration by Scientist Sarah! Get your experiment on at Port Discovery Children’s Museum on Saturday at 11 a.m. & 11:30 a.m., Ages: 2- 102. Free with paid admission.
Purim Carnival at Beth Am: The Carnival will include games, sand art, masks to decorate, prizes and tons of fun for all families. Homemade hamentaschen and other snacks will also be available. Please come and join the Beth Am community in celebrating this joyous holiday! Sunday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Live Right Kids Day: Fruits & Veggies: Bring the whole family along to celebrate the March Kids Day event at ShopRite in Timonium! Enjoy coupons, giveaways, a fun scavenger hunt, and great food samples.
The event will take place near the front entrance of the store.
Sunday Family Expressions at Baltimore School for the Arts: A spring favorite! Expressions features an hour-long show highlighting the work of BSA’s most talented students in music, dance and theatre, as well as a gallery exhibition by the visual arts students. A portion of tickets for each event are reserved for charitable organizations. Sunday at 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM. Tickets required.
Shamrock Shindig: Our (cool) friends at the Waterfront Partnership have cooked up another fun, downtown family event! If catching the annual Baltimore St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a ‘must do’ for your family, you won’t want to miss the pre-parade fun at Waterfront Partnership’s Shamrock Shindig! This family friendly event takes place Sunday, March 11th from 12pm -2pm at Phillips Seafood’s Dock, located at 601 East Pratt Street. LIVE St. Patrick’s Day themed music, shamrock crafts, cookie decorating, a strolling leprechaun and more! Children will receive shamrock derby hats, shamrock pins, beads and Irish flags – everything they need for the 57th Annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, which kicks off at 2pm. St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Baltimore’s St. Patrick Parade is truly the jewel in Maryland’s emerald crown. For more than 50 years, thousands of spectators from the region have crowded the streets and sidewalks of downtown Baltimore and the famous Inner Harbor to watch thousands more march and celebrate Irish culture, music, song, and dance.
Krieger Schechter Rockin’ Purim Carnival: Join Krieger Schechter on Sunday, March 11 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for the “Rockin’ Purim” Purim Carnival! Featuring a rock n’ roll talent show from 2-3 p.m. plus lunch, carnival games, a moonbounce and obstacle course, arts and crafts, prizes, and much more! Tickets are $10/child and $18/family in advance or $12/child and $20/family that day and includes games, popcorn, and candy.
