Whether you’re a veteran mom or still have your training wheels on, every gal can benefit from a little pro advice when she is expecting.

I know, I know — NOT MORE ADVICE! Advice seems to be like conversational currency when you’re sporting a baby bump. Everyone from your great aunt Martha’s bff with 12 kids, to the lady standing behind you at Target, to the co-worker who wants to chat about ‘how his wife dealt with sciatica’ wants to weigh in.

Today’s pro advice comes from, well, professionals. Who just happen to be moms as well. Like your margarita mocktail (and all advice for that matter), this mom advises you to take it with a grain of salt.

Building a baby is hard work. Support your inner architect and growing baby bump with fresh, colorful and nutrient rich food. Learn new ways to make vegetables burst with flavor. Take a tour around a grocery store to discover new ingredients and curb those chocolate cake cravings.  By strengthening your body (and baby) with a healthy diet, you will have more energy and less schlep. Your baby will thank you. Angela Mirra, Prenatal Nutrition Consultant, Doula & Mom,  Root and Bloom

Building baby’s closet right the first time will save time and energy once he or she arrives. Be thoughtful about having pieces in a few sizes and buy better fabrics that will stay lush & cozy with many washes. Seek help with your baby registry from a friend with children, you’ll be amazed at the difference they will make in your choices. Bridget Stickline, Founder, Stylist & Mom, Wee Chic – A Baby Boutique

Set your own goals and stick with it: Kourtney Kardashian breastfed for 14 months and wished she continued for the recommended 2 years. Women always tend to listen to people in their “circle.” Trust your instinct… it’s usually right.  Stephanie Norman, Registered Nurse, Lactation Consultant,  Public Health Expert & Mom, Zoe Maternity

Touch between a mother and child is so essential from the minute the baby is born. Touch instantaneously makes the baby feel loved and secure in the unknown world surrounding him. Stacy Radz & Lindsay Klatsky, Co-Owners and Moms, Charm City Kids Club

As he starts to crawl the panic sets in…oh no, did I remember to babyproof the fireplace, what about the stairway?”  Make your home safe for your baby before he or she arrives, because once they do, you are so overwhelmed (and exhausted) to do it later. Rochelle Walker, Owner & Mom, Pampered Mommas
